World
War Two plaque to the right of the airport entrance:
On
June 25, 1941, the South-Western Air Groupof the Air
Fleet (later reorganized into 69thAir Guard Fleet)
was formedat the subdivision of Odessa airport, andtook
part in defense of Odessa. For its battle honors theregiment
was awarded with the Kutuzov Order of 3rd degree,a
Medal "For the defense of Odessa" and an
honorary title "Lomzjensky".
